Redbirds Lacrosse Club - 2022 Referee Information
2022 Referee Information can be found on the Ontario Lacrosse Association website at www.ontariolacrosse.com/officiating.
New and Returning Box Lacrosse Referees
You must contact Jeremy and Keegan McNaught, Co-Referees-In-Chief of the Redbirds Lacrosse Club, at jeremymcnaught@gmail.com and keegan.mcn@gmail.com before registering for a referee clinic. Please be advised that if you attend a clinic without contacting the RLC RICs, you are not guaranteed games with the Redbirds Lacrosse Club.
There are a few requirements that must be fulfilled before you can start (see below). Once these are met, you are ready to start refereeing.
PLEASE NOTE: All referees that are 18 years of age by January 1st, 2022 must have a Criminal Record Check completed prior to the referee
The Redbirds Lacrosse Club reimburses the clinic fee on the condition that the person referees a minimum number of games as requested.
Age Requirement - Referees
Must be turning 14 years old during the calendar year.
Prerequisites - Referees
Familiarity with the game.
Age Requirement - Timekeepers
Minimum age requirement is 12 years (some exceptions may apply).

Familiarity with the game.
Training Session
We will hold a training session on the use of game clocks, shot clocks, and game sheets for all new referees and minor officials/ timekeepers. For those familiar with these duties, this will be a great refresher and reference for recent changes in the game.
